Josalynn Harris

Josalynn HarrisJosalynn Harris has been working at Smith Academy since 2012 and has been working in education since 1996. She has earned a Bachelors and two Masters degrees from Prairie View A&M University.

Ms. Harris is from Waco, Texas and is interested in spending time with family, horseback riding, tennis, writing, reading, traveling. Some of her favorite books include Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren and What MaryJo Shared by Janice May Udry.

She is wonders when education will become a priority in the United States.

Angela Johnson

 

Angela Johnson

Angela Johnson has been working at Smith Academy since 2014 and has been working in education since 2013. She has earned a Bachelors degree from Prairie View A&M University.

Ms. Johnson is from Houston, Texas and graduated from Eisenhower HS. She is interested in traveling to exotic locations, reading, theatre, and dancing. Some of her favorite books include A Long Way Gone, Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah and The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd.

She is curious about the philosophical questions that have plagued man since the beginning of time.

Armando Magañ

Armando Magana

Armando Magaña is beginning his second year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2011. He received his Bachelor degree from California State University - Channel Islands.


Mr. Magaña is from Oxnard, California and is interested in cycling and taking walks in nature. His favorite book is It is Not the Media by Keren Sternheimer.

He is curious about human development and the future and destiny of mankind in the next 50 years.

Mary Petty

Mary Petty is beginning her first year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 1996. She has earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Sam Houston State University.

Mrs. Petty is from Galveston, Texas and is interested in gardening, music, sewing, and being with family. Some of her favorite books include The Stories of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter and The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.

She is curious about the future of our world in the coming generations and wonders how to best impact her students' minds to make big impacts to better our futures.

Alejandro Redondo

Alejandro Redondo

Alejandro Redondo is beginning his first year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2009. He has earned a Physical Education Teacher and a Foreign Languages Teacher degrees from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, a Master in Innovation and Investigation in Education from National Distance University, and is currently working on his PhD.

Mr. Redondo is from Toledo, Spain and is interested in music, running, and sports. Some of his favorite books include the Game of Thrones series from R.R. Martin and The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.

He is curious about various cultures, educational systems, and innovation in education.

Jennifer Teel

Jennifer Teel

Jennifer Teel is beginning her first year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2013. She received her Bachelors from Sam Houston State University.

Ms. Teel is from San Mateo, California and is interested in volunteering at church, being outdoors, and spending time with family. Some of her favorite books include A Case for Christ by Lee Strobel and The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.

She is curious about psychology, the quality of human life, and ways to develop safe communities.

Jamelle Woodard

Jamelle Woodard

Jamelle Woodard has been working at Smith Academy since 2004 and has been working in education since 1988. She has earned a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Elementary Administration from Texas Southern University.

Ms. Woodard is from Houston, Texas and is interested in music, dance, scrapbooking, reading, and the Houston Rockets. She enjoys reading books that are inspirational, about cooking, and decorating.

She is curious about sharks, cooking, and how children learn.
