Dolexia Allen 


Mrs. AllenDolexia Allen has been working at Smith Academy since 2012 and has been working in education since 2004. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters Degree in Special Education from Texas State University.

Mrs. Allen is from Bonus, Texas and is interested in reading, cooking for her family, walks in the park, and visiting new places. Some of her favorite books include To Market, To Market by Anne Miranda and Cousins by Virginia Hamilton.

She is interested in anything historical.

Karese Leavatts 

 

Mrs. LeavattsKarese Leavatts has been working at Smith Academy since 2012. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and is currently working towards a Masters of Education from Sam Houston State University.

Mrs. Leavatts is from Tyler, Texas and is interested in cooking, spending time with family, reading, and learning about different cultures. Some of her favorite books include Pigeon books by Mo Willems and Chrysanthemumby Kevin Henkes.

She is curious about integrating technology into her teaching and understanding how young minds learn best.

Jennifer Hill 


Jennifer Hill

Jennifer Hill has been working at Smith Academy since 2012 and has been working in education since 2007. She earned a Bachelors of Business Management in Human Resource Management from Abilene Christian University.

Mrs. Hill is from Dallas, Texas and is interested in making jewelry and spending time with her family. Some of her favorite books include Amazing Grace by Mary Hoffman and anything about history.

She is curious about learning about things from the past.

Reina Lopez


Reina LopezReina Lopez is beginning her first year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2013. She received a Bachelors of Arts in Educational Studies from Western Governors University.
 
Ms. Lopez is from Houston, Texas and a graduate of Aldine High School. Her hobbies included reading books, exercising, and trying new restaurants. Some of her favorite books include The Book Theif by Markus Zusak and Esperanza Rising by Munoz Ryan. 

She is curious about history, child development, and the human brain.

Alejandro Redondo

 

Alejandro RedondoAlejandro Redondo is beginning his second year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2009. He has earned a Physical Education Teacher and a Foreign Languages Teacher degrees from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, a Master in Innovation and Investigation in Education from National Distance University, and is currently working on his PhD

Mr. Redondo is from Toledo, Spain and is interested in music, running, and sports. Some of his favorite books include the Game of Thrones series from R.R. Martin and The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.


He is curious about various cultures, educational systems, and innovation in education.

Veronica Jimenez

 

Veronica Jimenez

Mrs. Veronica Jimenez is from Houston and joined the Smith
Elementary staff in August, 2018. She began her teaching career in 2009 in HISD, where she taught kindergarten. Mrs. Jimenez received her BA at the University of Houston – Downtown and is currently pursuing a masters degree in reading instruction.

In her spare time, Mrs. Jimenez enjoys reading. She is curious about how people live in other countries. Nora Roberts is one of her favorite authors. Amazing Grace is one of her favorite books.
