Lindy Cranfill

Lindy Cranfill

Lindy Cranfill is beginning her first year at Smith Academy and has been working in education sine 2012. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Tulsa and a Master of Science in Reading and Literacy from Oklahoma State University.

 Ms. Cranfill is from Jonesboro, Arkansas and is interested in reading, cooking, and traveling. Her favorite books include The Noticer by Andy Andrews and anything written by Laine Moriarty. David Wisner and Staven Jenkins are her favorite authors of children books.

She is curious about the reading process and how students develop their literacy understanding.

Margarita Flores

Margarita FloresMargarita Flores is beginning her second year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 1993. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico and a Bilingual Generalist degree from Lone Star College in Cy-Fair.

Mrs. Flores is from Mazatlan, Mexico and is interested in oil painting. Some of her favorite books include The Pillars of the Earth, Fall of Giants, and Winter of the World by Ken Follett.

She is curious about traveling and learning about different cultures.

Diondra Miladinovic 

Diondra MiladinovicDiondra Miladinovic is beginning her second year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2012. She earned a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in biology from the University of Texas - Permian Basin.

Mrs. Miladinovic is from San Antonio, Texas and is interested in playing sports, reading books, and watching Korean dramas. Some of her favorite books include A Thousand Splendid Suns and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

She is curious about different countries and their cultures. All individuals are unique and come from different backgrounds.

Jorge Ortiz

Jorge OrtizJorge Ortiz is beginning his second year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2014. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Studies from The University of Texas at Austin after graduating from Aldine HS.

Mr. Ortiz is interested in trying new restaurants, traveling, kayaking, and watching Texas Longhorns football. His favorite book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

He is curious to see how technological advancements will impact our future.

Emily Sturges

Emily Sturges

Emily Sturges is beginning her second year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2014. She earned a Bachelors degree from University of Northern Iowa.

Ms. Sturges is from St. Ansgar, Iowa and is interested in basketball, kayaking, and reading. Some of her favorite books include There's a Witch Under the Stairs by Maggie Smith and Rufus Goes to School by Kim T. Griswell.

She is curious about learning new languages and exploring Houston.

Ayisha Warfa

Ayisha WarfaAyisha Warfa is beginning her second year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2005. She has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Southern University and a Master's of Education Administration from Lamar University.

Ms. Warfa is from Houston, Texas and is interested in community service, traveling, reading, canoeing, and cooking. Some of her favorite books include Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey and books written by Dr. Seuss.

She is curious about different languages and cultures.
