Caitlin Schreck

Caitlin SchreckMs. Caitlin Schreck is from Cedar Falls, Iowa and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in Elementary Education. She began her teaching career in Aldine in 2016 at Cypresswood Elementary. Ms. Schreck taught 4th grade language arts for the past two years and has had the opportunity to lead and facilitate professional development for other teachers. 

Ms.Schreck has a deep love of reading, practices yoga, and is always trying to learn something new. She also enjoys practicing her Spanish and paying attention to how people use words. Some of her favorite books include The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, I am Malala by Malala Yousafzai, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle and As Brave as You by Jason Reynolds

Nicole Robbins


Nicole RobbinsNicole Robbins was born and raised in Fredonia, New York, a small town in upstate New York on Lake Erie. She graduated from the State Universityof New York (SUNY) at Fredonia with a BS in Education and a minor in mathematics. She began her teaching career in Aldine at Dunn Elementary in 2012, where she has served in various leadership capacities, including team leader and math instructional coach. She was selected as the teacher of the year at Dunn in 2015. Ms. Robbins has worked in a variety of classroom settings and is certified in English as a Second Language (ESL).


Ms. Robbins joins the 4th grade team at Smith Elementary this year as a math and social studies teacher. In her spare time, she enjoys running, working out, watching movies, going to the beach, playing darts and corn hole, and spending time with family and friends. She curious about how to engage students more meaningfully in mathematics and how to include virtual field trips into the classroom. Some of her favorite books include The Giver by Lois Lowry, Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, Jemima J by Jane Green and The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins.

Kamilah Slieman


Kamilah SleimanKamilah Slieman is beginning her first year at Smith Academy after earning a Bachelor of Arts in World Literature from The Ohio State University.

Ms. Slieman is from Watauga, Texas and is interested in reading, listening to music, and watching TV sitcoms. Some of her favorite books include I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson and Emma by Jane Austen.

She is curious about learning languages and about cultures from around the world.

Arleen McManus

Arleen McManusArleen McManus is beginning her second year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2011. She has a Bachelors Degree in Architecture from the University of Architecture from Argentina.

Mrs. McManus is from Spring, Texas and is interested in puzzles, drawing, and reading. Some of her favorite books include Michelangelo: Scultpor, Painter, Architect by Charles Sala and Michelangelo Buonarroti and The History of Art: The Essential Guide to Painting Through the Ages by A.N. Hodge.

She is curious about art and science.

Margarita Flores


Margarita FloresMargarita Flores is beginning her second year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 1993. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico and a Bilingual Generalist degree from Lone Star College in Cy-Fair.

Mrs. Flores is from Mazatlan, Mexico and is interested in oil painting. Some of her favorite books include The Pillars of the EarthFall of Giants, andWinter of the World by Ken Follett.

She is curious about traveling and learning about different cultures.
