Reina Lopez


Photo Coming SoonReina Lopez is beginning her first year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2013. She received a Bachelors of Arts in Educational Studies from Western Governors University.

Ms. Lopez is from Houston, Texas and a graduate of Aldine High School. Her hobbies included reading books, exercising, and trying new restaurants. Some of her favorite books include The Book Theif by Markus Zusak and Esperanza Rising by Munoz Ryan.

She is curious about history, child development, and the human brain.

Armando Magañ

Mr. Magana

Armando Magaña is beginning his third year at Smith Academy and has been working in education since 2011. He received his Bachelor degree from California State University - Channel Islands.

Mr. Magaña is from Oxnard, California and is interested in cycling and taking walks in nature. His favorite book is It is Not the Media by Keren Sternheimer.

He is curious about human development and the future and destiny of mankind in the next 50 years.

Jessica Martinez

Ms. Martinez is from Houston, Texas and is interested in traveling, crocheting, and arts & crafts. Some of her favorite books include Wonder by R.J. Palacio and A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry.

She is curious about how to best incorporate music into her instruction.

Briyania Nugent

Ms. Nugent is from Houston, Texas and is interested in reading, traveling, exercise, and spending time with family. Some of her favorite books include Miss Nelson is Missing! by Harry Allard and Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.

She is curious about cognitive guided instruction.

Ms. WodzickiAshley Wodzicki is beginning her third year at Smith Academy and earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with a Minor in Psychology from the University of Hartford.

Ms. Wodzicki is from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and is interested in hiking, road cycling, photography, and reading. Some of her favorite books include The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and No Jumping On The Bed by Tedd Arnold.

She is curious about child development, the human brain and behavior, and traveling.

Ms. Woodard

Jamelle Woodard has been working at Smith Academy since 2004 and has been working in education since 1988. She has earned a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Elementary Administration from Texas Southern University.

Ms. Woodard is from Houston, Texas and is interested in music, dance, scrapbooking, reading, and the Houston Rockets. She enjoys reading books that are inspirational, about cooking, and decorating.

She is curious about sharks, cooking, and how children learn.
